The Births in Ndutu

7 days

Migration Safari Ndutu

From December to March, the Great Migration gathers in the Ndutu region.

Key points of the trip

THE GREAT MIGRATION IN NDUTU

From December to March, the great migration herds will be found in the Ndutu region, situated on the edge of the Serengeti National Park but part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Here, more than 1.7 million wildebeest and 600,000 zebra will gather to give birth. This allows most of the females in the herd to give birth at the same time, giving the young a better chance of survival.

3 MUST-SEES

This itinerary offers you a complete safari during which you will visit 3 national parks: Manyara and its salt lake, Tarangire and its elephants and the mythical Serengeti. The Ngorongoro Crater is also on the programme to complete a perfect safari in Northern Tanzania.

COMFORT FOR ALL

The plains of the Serengeti welcome you in superb canvas tents. All the amenities of a hotel, with the added spirit of nature, and even spacious family tents! Enjoy an aperitif around the campfire as you watch the sun set, and transition into a night will be filled with the sounds of wild animals.

  5. DAY 5: MIGRATION SAFARI - NDUTU

Every year, this migratory event involves three species of animals moving in huge herds: more than 1.7 million wildebeest, 600,000 zebra and 400,000 gazelle, all of which follow a migration cycle during which they search for green pastures all year round.
The females give birth from December to mid-March. The herds stay in the Ndutu region and on the grassy plains of Salei in the south of the Serengeti.
There will be plenty of predators such as lions, cheetahs and hyenas, on the lookout for a newborn calf straying from its mother. Ndutu is certainly the best place to witness such an event.
